 Happenings on the Farm

             Summer  2011

It is hot and humid here this summer.  The livestock spend most of their days in front of the fans and only go out to graze at night.  The garden is growing well and all the flowers are blooming.

We are in the middle of baling hay while dodging the rainstorms.  Hopefully this year we will have enough hay to sell if the weather cooperates.

Most of the babies have arrived but we may have a few surprises as we go through the summer.  The cows are beginning to calve now so we look for surprises every day.

The chickens are laying plenty of eggs.  We still have a few hens with their chicks and several roosters wondering the grounds but they take care of the bugs in the garden.

We are thankful to have the "swimming hole" to go to when the weather is so hot.  Most of the dogs love to go swimming or just stand in the water and get cool.

We had a very special surprise just a few weeks ago, a miniature horse we had adopted had a mini-mule.  Her name is Bunny Grace and she is precious.  We like her so much that we may start breeding mini-mules so if you are interested, give us a call.
