Farm Workshops
Farming workshops are for those who have purchased animals or for those that are interested in raising them. Animal health, nutrition, parasite control, fencing, housing, and predator control are some of the topics covered.
Sheep 101-- This workshop will focus on sheep with emphasis on the wool breed, however meat breeds will be touched on as well as other fiber animals if that is your interest.
Goats 101--This workshop will cover the dairy goat as well as the meat goat.
Family Farming--This workshop will give you tips on beginning and running a family farm which centers on family use. This workshop will incorporate the interest of the students.
Each session will run between 2 1/2 and three hours and can be taught either in the morning or afternoon. Classes will be taught weather permitting. Cost is $60 - all materials included.
Additional Workshops
The following workshops can be taught on the farm or at other locations if requested. Workshop times can vary depending on what subject is taught, number of students and how in depth the workshop will go into that particular subject. All classes are 10 dollars and hour per student, plus material fees. Available workshops are as follows:
